Who we are
A small bench of senior people who understand how capital is raised, and who work only for the client who hired them.
IFC International Finance Corporation LLC is a private structuring and advisory firm: a concentrated bench of senior practitioners who have designed the instruments that move sovereign and institutional capital.
We are not a bank, a lender, a deposit-taker, a broker-dealer or an asset manager, and we do not pretend to be. We take a deliberately small number of mandates so that each receives the attention it warrants.
Independence is the product
Most financial advice carries a quiet conflict: the institution giving it has something to sell from its own book. We do not. The recommendation you receive is the one we would act on ourselves. That is rarer than it should be, and it is the whole reason to retain us.
Structuring is the craft
The instrument, the tranching, the security package, the repayment waterfall, the currency mix, the Sharia-compliant wrapper where it applies. This is work we do better than houses many times our size. Our people have designed sovereign-bond programmes, availability-payment infrastructure and cross-border instruments that institutional investors have underwritten.

Chairman
IFC is chaired by Dr. Michael Herzog, founder and chairman of the International Finance group of companies. Over more than forty years in international finance, he has structured and managed global equity, fixed-income and derivatives portfolios, and built the cross-border relationships, across finance, industry and government, on which complex mandates depend.
His training is deliberately interdisciplinary: a foundation in physics, medicine and economics that led to early work in econophysics and the quantitative modelling that still informs the firm’s approach to structure. He advises across borders and across languages, working in English, German, Spanish, Italian and French, with working knowledge of Russian, Mandarin, Hebrew and Arabic.
Where a mandate requires regulated banking, that work is carried by IFB International Finance Bank LTD, the group’s licensed institution. We advise and arrange. The bank banks.
